The Culture and Leisure Department within the Education Administration consists of about 100 employees who work to provide the residents of Danderyd with access to meaningful leisure activities and enriching cultural experiences. Our areas of operation include cultural schools, libraries, sports and leisure, as well as support for associations and culture.

The Association and Cultural Support Unit reports to the Head of Culture and Leisure and consists of four employees who support and complement each other in their daily work. The unit handles venue bookings, processing of association grants, support for the association life, cultural offerings, and issues related to disabilities. This involves both operational and strategic work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You have a broad mandate as a Culture and Leisure Coordinator in Danderyd Municipality with a focus on cultural issues. The role involves a key position in creating favorable conditions for cultural life. Your work includes everything from coordination, planning, and booking to the practical implementation of various activities. This includes preventive and promotional efforts for children and youth, dialogue with cultural associations, grant management, venue issues, an art collection, public art, and writing cases for the board.

Main responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the event offerings and communication of culture and leisure activities in line with the board's assignments and goals.
  • Plan and coordinate preventive and promotional efforts within the culture and leisure area for children and youth.
  • Manage and rent cultural venues and stages, including coordination of sound and lighting technology.
  • Publish content for culture and leisure on the web, social media, and intranet.
  • Be responsible for the municipality's art holdings, including purchases, placement, inventory, and maintenance.
  • Process and investigate cases for the Culture and Leisure Board regarding cultural support.
  • Process association grants and scholarships.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field as assessed by the employer.
  • Good ability to communicate in writing in Swedish, tailored for different target groups.
  • Documented and current experience in independently creating activities within art and culture.

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Documented experience working with children and youth culture.
  • Practical experience working with concerts and/or performances in a stage environment.
  • Education or experience in working with art.
  • Experience in structured work within communication via web, social media, and printed material.
  • Interest and knowledge of digital tools and digital development.
  • Experience in investigative work in public operations.

You have a broad interest in and good knowledge of cultural issues. You have the ability to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally, and find it easy to communicate and collaborate with people in various contexts and functions. You express yourself clearly, coherently, and well-structured in writing and can adapt your texts according to the target group and purpose.

You have experience in independent work with a high degree of personal responsibility and understand what it means to work with cultural issues in a politically governed organization. As a person, you are structured, flexible, and solution-oriented. We would like you to have a broad interest in culture and a good understanding of cultural policy, as well as the ability to analyze needs and create clear structures for collaboration.
